Venue and vineyard

The original Manor on which the House is built was given to Ralph de Mortimer by William the Conqueror. The house as it stands today dates from Elizabethan times although some parts may be as early as 15th Century. The previous owner, Squire Jenkyns' wife was an Austin-Leigh, related to Jane Austin the author who used to stay here from time to time. Although the house is not used for weddings, it provides a splendid backdrop for pictures.

The Vineyard was planted 40 years ago by the present owner Jim Firth, who trained to be a vintner in the Alsace and the wine is estate grown and bottled by Jim and his son, Darren. The vineyard produces both Medium and Dry White Wine each year and we personalise the bottles for your special day with the names of the Bride and Groom and the date of the wedding.

The grounds are extensive and very romantic for pictures, featuring both formal gardens, water features and woodland areas as well as the vineyard.

Everyone has been talking about you, your staff, the venue, the food etc etc, they all agree that the day was amazing and some believe it was the best wedding they have ever been to!
